Cedar Valley Friends of the Family presents informational program on human trafficking

Mariana Vega, anti-human trafficking specialist from the Cedar Valley Friends of the Family, will present an informational program on human trafficking Monday, April 17 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Cresco Public Library Program Room. This event is free to attend, and the Cresco Public Library is handicap-accessible.
According to statistics provided by Cedar Valley Friends of the Family, there are between 100,000 and 300,000 homeless youth on the street each year.One third of homeless youth are approached within 48 hours to engage in labor and sex services.
The Cedar Valley Friends of the Family serves Howard County. The Anti-Human Trafficking Program offers comprehensive service including, but not limited to: Safe shelter, case management, transportation, rapid rehousing services, advocacy, information and referrals, trauma informed care, safety planning, 24-hour crisis line, and community collaboration and training.
