Borrow from another library

Our library is connected to other libraries throughout the state and nation. If you can't find an item in this library, ask library staff to help you get it from another library.

Interlibrary Loan is a great service that gives patrons the opportunity to take advantage of the resources in most libraries in the state of Iowa and, if needed, throughout the United States.

Need a book that the Cresco Public Library does not have?  Getting it is just a request away!

  • Call or come to the front desk of the library with the title and author.  We will go on the internet to find a library who will lend it to us. An Interlibrary Loan Request Form will be filled out.

  • The fee for ordering Interlibrary Loans is $1.50 per item, payable when the patron picks up the item.  If the item comes by Keystone Van, there will be no charge.

  • Materials on loan through Interlibrary Loan are usually checked out for three weeks.

  • It may take up to two weeks to receive an Interlibrary Loan item.
