Kids' Craft @ 10 am on Mondays, Program Room                                                                                Storytime on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10 am.

Kids' Tech Time @ 2 pm on Mondays, Program Room                                                                               Storytime is at 2 pm on June 21 & June 28.

2023 Summer Library Program Schedule

Intended Ages: 0-11.               Children under 9 must be supervised.

  • June 7: Chalk the Walk @ 2 pm, outside Cresco Public Library

             Find your voice as you decorate the sidewalks around the library with chalk! Available to all ages.

  • June 14: Instrument Zoo @ 2pm, Methodist Church

             See, listen, and learn about different instruments with Crestwood's elementary band teacher, Weston Krug!

  • June 21: Twisted Bokay @ 10 am, Beadle Park

           A fun and interactive program where volunteers will get balloon accessories and act out a couple of stories with balloon specialist, Patty!

  • June 28: Foam Cannon @ 10 am, Beadle Park

            Absolute Science is back after a successful program last year. Join us at Beadle Park for an interactive and eco-friendly program on foam cannons!

  • July 5: Swim Storytime @ 10 am, Cresco Fitness Center

             Join Children's Librarian Kim as she reads a couple of books in the pool! Brought in partnership with Cresco Fitness Center. No membership required.

  • July 12: Dinosaur Dimensions @ 2pm, Methodist Church

                Kids will see & touch their favorite dinosaurs in this interactive and scientific program! Strutz Entertainment brings dinosaur puppets while educating on dinosaurs.

  • July 19: Snakes, Frogs, Toads, Oh My! @ 2pm, Methodist Church

             Due to popular demand, Waukon native and Wartburg professor Dr. Bechtel is back! Join us to see, touch, and hold animals including snakes, tortoises,                                          turtles, and more!

  • July 26: Karoake Party @ 2 pm, Program Room

             Find your voice by singing karaoke at the library! Join friends and family as people sing and dance under the library's very own disco ball! Drinks and refreshments                        provided.

  • August 2: Howard County Conservation @10 am, Methodist Church

              Join Howard County's Naturalist Angela Bries and learn about how animals find their voice and communicate to one another.

  • August 9: Sensory Stations @ 2pm, Program Room

            Explore the library and your senses through different interactive stations that focus on different textures, sounds, and smells! Please dress in clothes that can get messy.

  • August 16: Summer Library Program Carnival! @ 1-4 pm, Beadle Park

                 Celebrate the end of Summer Library Program and the start of school! Stop by Beadle Park and enjoy bouncy houses, cotton candy, a squirt gun station, & more!                          SLP prizes will be announced and awarded at 3:30 pm.
