Interlibrary Loan

Cresco Public Library takes part in an interlibrary loan (ILL) program. We are able to borrow materials from a variety of libraries. If you can't find an item in our library, ask a librarian or fill out the form below.

  • We have two main ways to transport books for interlibrary loan.

    • Shuttle (Free): Our shuttle system comes Monday and Wednesday mornings. This way of transpotation is free.

    • Postage/Mail ($2.00): If we request an item and it is sent from a college or university, there will be a $2.00 charge.

  • When requesting an item, you can ask for an extended due date. This is mainly used for people in either book clubs or schools.

  • If you want an item that was recently released, it will be hard to get it through interlibrary loan because it is so new. Be patient and either ask to request it through interlibrary loan or see if we ended up purchasing it for our own collection.

  • There are some times where we won't be able to find or get the item you're looking for through interlibrary loan. If this happens, a member of the staff will contact you as soon as possible.

  • Once the item/s are in and ready for pickup, we will call the patron two times in the span of a week. If the item is not picked up by the end of the week then we will send it back to the library that owns it.

  • Items will still be checked out for either the standard three weeks (books and audiobooks) or one week (movies).

  • If you need to renew an interlibrary loan, please let us know as soon as possible. We have to contact the library that owns it and ask for a renewal. Once we hear back from them, we will contact you as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact a member of the staff. You can find each staff member and their email (just click on their name) under the 'Contact' tab at the top of the screen.
